Green Valley Women Golfers
Board Meeting – November 4, 2008

Members in Attendance – Julie Osborne, Sarah Johnson, Lynne Waslohn.
Mary Gay Whiting, Diane Thompson, Diane Kelly, Joanna Chew, Marilyn Walker, Alice Delgado, Cindy Hamilton. Itsuko Moriadora, Deann Ikard

Meeting was called to order at 1:15 p.m. by Julie Osborn, Captain

Minutes from September 30  meeting were read and approved.

Mini Invitational

Diane Thompson reported that 80 people participated in the mini.  Everyone had a great time and thought the format was great.  Julie raised the question as to whether the mini needs its own bank account.  Diane Thompson said they only wrote a few checks and didn’t feel a separate account was necessary.  After discussion, a motion was made, seconded and approved to allow the mini funds to be run through the regular invitational account.  The chairpersons for the mini will make all the deposits and do the accounting.

Invitational for 2009    Joanna Chew reported that she has been unable to find a chair for the upcoming invitational.  Linda Brooks and Linda Neal have volunteered to help but neither has the experience to chair the event.  Diane Thompson said that Mark would do the organizing since it will now be a club event but he will have to have someone to work closely with him.  Carol Murrey will take care of the food again.  Someone on the committee must take care of sponsors as well – there were 37 this year.  As it is early, a search for a chairperson for the committee will continue.

Trophy -  A new trophy is needed as the old one is now filled.  Julie provided pricing and suggested the one with the cherry finish at $106.45.  A motion was made and seconded to order the one recommended by Julie.  The motion passed.

Home and Home  A discussion was held regarding Home and Home.  It was suggested that all Green Valley ladies ride on that day as some of the guests feel uncomfortable having to ride alone.  Green Valley ladies will be encouraged to ride next year but no requirement will apply.

A motion was made, seconded and passed that Green Valley Eighteen Hole ladies who choose not to participate in Home and Home or Guest Days be required to get a tee time or sign up for the regular play.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:35.

Respectfully Submitted,
