New Business

Ladies’ Invitational – The Board of Directors for the club voted at the April meeting that the invitational is a club event and must be open to all ladies belonging to the club. Guidelines for participation may be set. After discussion, it was determined that the following guidelines will be in place for the event: both the member and guest must have an established eighteen hole handicap with the 10 games completed prior to July 1, all participants will play to no more than a 36 handicap, all participants will pay the same fee of $175 per player. Entry fee must be paid by June 1. Sign up sheet will be posted on Tuesday, April 15. Only 108 players will be accepted, and a waiting list will be initiated once the field is full. Discussion was held about the work involved in the invitational and it was decided that next year a committee will be formed including ladies from the 18 hole group, the 9 hole group, and those who play but do not belong to either group so that the preparations are spread throughout the club.

Treasurer’s Report

Melody Scott reported that the group has three new members and is expecting two more in the coming weeks. Only $900 of the $2500 budget for balls has been spent to date.

Old Business

Per Julie the Sassy Sixties event still needs more volunteers for both Monday and Tuesday. Persons who are able to assist should contact Patty Williams.

Committee Reports

Captain’s Report – Sharon Murray has been asked to serve on the Golf Committee and she has accepted. Pam Angen will serve as the liaison from the 18 holers to the Board.

Handicap Tournament – Alice Delgado reported that the sign-up sheet and the rules for play will be posted in the next few days in the locker room. She requested budget information which Julie agreed to provide.

Invitational – Sarah Johnson reported that sponsor letters are going out soon and flyers for raffle prizes will be posted around the club. The tartan has been selected and bagpipers have been arranged. The only issue is the difficulty of arranging for the tee prizes. Several members suggested possible jewelers to contact. Plans for the event are well under control at this time per Sarah.

Best Ball of Partners

Ann Gemmer reported that 24 teams participated this year. Discussion arose about stroke versus match play for the tournament. The issue will be brought up at the annual meeting again this year.

Guest Day – Loretta reminded the group that guest day is April 22. The sign up sheet has been posted and each member may have 3 guests this time. Cost will be $20 for food and $3.00 for sweeps.

Meeting was adjourned at 3:15 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,
