Green Valley Women Golfers

Board Meeting – January 3, 2008

Members in Attendance – Julie Osborne, Jane Sullivan, Sarah Johnson, Carol Murrey,  Diane Thompson, Cindy Hamilton, Carolyn Roth, Lynne Waslohn.

Meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Julie Osborn, Captain

Minutes from the December Board Meeting were approved with the following correction: last mixer of year is scheduled for December 18.

Unfinished Business

Logo Golf Balls – Pro shop has ordered the personalized golf balls for the upcoming year.

Guest Day – Joan Mumaugh informed Julie that she has now received a response letter from Claude.  Hopefully, it will be available for review at the February meeting.

Julie reported that there are many errors in the new calendar.  Corrections will appear in the upcoming newsletter.

New Business

18/9 Hole Mixer  - Julie reported that in the past the 18 holers have hosted one mixer and the 9 holers have hosted a second one.  Her suggestion for this year is that we include breakfast this year for the March 25 mixer.  Both groups will be asked to sign up for play that day and pairings will be made in advance.  This effort will hopefully make the niners more comfortable playing with our group.

Rules Meeting – Julie suggested that we really need a rules meeting.  Per Diane Thompson, both Betsy Pelkin and Sharon Murray have agreed to do one but dates have not been determined.  Diane will provide dates so they can be published in the Key.

Committee Reports

Corresponding Secretary – Carolyn reported that she still has cards and stamps.  Please let her know if you know anyone who should receive a card.

Julie mentioned that persons who have a hole in one or break 90 or 100 need to turn in a signed and attested card to her so she can make sure they get the recognition from WGANC.

Open Day – We don’t have one scheduled for this year as we are hosting the Sassy 60’s on April 28 & 29.  We will need lots of help with the tournament.  Tournament will be played at GVCC as well as Napa and lunch and dinner will be served both days.

North Bay Team Play – Diane Thompson says uniforms will be in the pro shop in February.  They should be worn for the tournaments hosted at Green Valley.  It was also suggested that magnetic name tags be ordered for identification purposes.  Julie will check on that.

Invitational Committee – Per Sarah Johnson, the committee will meet on January 8, 2008.  The theme this year is Scotland.

Futures – Carol Murray provided dates:

                  Silverado – April 29

                  Meadow – June 5

                  Green Valley – July 8

                  Napa – July 30

                  Marin – August 28

Meeting was adjourned at 8:25 a.m.

Respectfully Submitted,

Lynne Waslohn
